it’s a shoe-in

Decided I’m going to periodically dedicate my posts to lookalike designer shoes. Here’s why: You already know I don’t understand the point of spending upwards of $700 on footwear. And (best part), I keep seeing low-end manufacturers doing excellent renditions of the hottest designers shoes on the market for a fraction of the cost. To be clear: I’m not talking about designers fakes–and there are plenty of those nasty sites on the internet. I’m talking about strong similarities that don’t pretend to be the same shoe.

Here, five great reasons to be spendthrift….

Snake-embossed cork wedge by Taryn Rose; $495

Fitzwell Beliarosa; $55, www.zappos.com

Valentino bow pump; $645

Butter Cass pump; $275, www.endless.com

Prada Classic Leopard loafer; $790

Aerosoles Nu Day moccasin; $69, www.endless.com

Jimmy Choo Zinc Glitter-Printed platform sandals; $580 (on sale!)

Chinese Laundry Illene metallic sandal; $49.95, www.dsw.com

Giuseppe Zanotti lace platform slingback; $650

Luichiny Mystic Sky peep-toe platform pump; $89.95, www.endless.com

It’s crazy, right? And only you (and I) will know the real story.
