The Tadashi gown--pricey but worth it.

So sorry for the lag, dear readers, but I’ve been madly completing a work project that’s had me tearing my hair out for months. It’s finally done and I can return to the much more appealing world of bargain shopping. Or, in the case of this post, not such a bargain….

Several readers asked me to reveal which of the sequined gowns I chose for the black-tie event last week. I ended up wearing the Tadashi; more expensive, to be sure, but it fit me better and, according to my 13-year-old daughter, “didn’t look cheap, like the other one.

I’m very glad I took her advice: As I walked into the venue, a local social photographer stopped to snap my picture, while a bejeweled woman with a clipboard asked me, “Who are you wearing this evening?” (I thanked my lucky stars I didn’t have to utter the words “Target” that night.)

Here’s another reason I was happy to be wearing my Tadashi gown: Someone else was wearing my alternate choice. (Catty aside: It looked cheap. My daughter was right.)

Stay tuned for more glitz and glamour soon, as I’m going to share with you the goodies I found at TJ Maxx yesterday–holiday-gift possibilities that I, for one, would be very happy to receive.
